Petrel
The Galapagos petrel is a large, long-winged bird that floats on air currents. Swift and elegant, it makes no noise while flying over the sea. And just like its namesake, the 115-foot, luxury catamaran Petrel will impress you from the moment you step aboard with its speed, sleekness of style, stability and noise-reduction capability.
Built in September 2015, the Petrel is one of the newest and fastest catamarans cruising the Galapagos Islands today. Its up-to-the-minute technology and state-of-the-art stability system ensure the smoothest of rides.
The Petrel accommodates 16 passengers in two, 463-square-foot suites with king beds; six, 323-foot staterooms with twin beds that can be converted into one king size; and one, 151-foot, single stateroom. All cabins have large windows, wood flooring in warm colors, bathrooms and private balconies, where you can quietly reflect on the striking, changing scenery.
On the main deck, at the forward part of the ship, you’ll find a library. A comfortable lounge, dining room and porch are located at the stern. The upper deck holds the captain’s cabin, the bridge, an outdoor bar and several tables. Flat-screen TVs, laptops, a DVD player and stereo are always ready for your enjoyment.
The Petrel’s top sundeck is where you’ll want to unwind by taking in the extraordinary and exquisite views from your lounge chair, your stool at the bar or your seat in the soothing Jacuzzi. It also has a grill, which means that not only does this tier serve as the best place on the Equator for sunbathing, it’s eminently suitable for a grilled chicken and langostino lunch. During the days, you’ll find the sundeck to be the perfect station for watching whales and dolphins. In the evenings, it’s a stellar spot for stargazing.
Your activities off the Petrel will be just as well catered: kayaks, snorkeling gear and wetsuits are supplied so that your encounters with the marine wildlife will be exceptionally up close and personal.
