Cormorant

Each of the Galapagos Islands has its own character. From the cloud forests in the highlands of Santa Cruz to the flamingo-filled lagoons of Floreana, every isle has a unique history and signature nature. And your voyage to them should be just as special and distinct.

Travel aboard the 16-guests-only Cormorant, and you’ll find that match between place and method of moving. A 108-foot-long, stable catamaran, the Cormorant features eight double cabins, each with its own balcony. On the upper deck, the four, 258-square-foot staterooms have two twin beds that can convert to one king size. A sofa bed can be added to the two suites, two staterooms in the main deck, and the cabins on the upper deck for triple occupancy for two adults and a child under 12. There’s the option for cabins to be interconnected, so that families and groups can intimately share their exceptional experiences in the Galapagos Islands.

On the main deck, there are two staterooms with fixed twin beds; and two, 409-square-foot suites, each with a king-size bed, lounge and sofa bed. All of the cabins have air-conditioning, a plasma TV/DVD player, L'occitane bathroom products, hair dryers and a safety deposit box.

The common areas on the Cormorant are anything but “common.” On a huge sundeck, you can lounge on plush cushions in the sun—or shade. You may choose to take a refreshing soak in the Jacuzzi, or enjoy a meal in the sundeck’s alfresco dining area. Browse the library or use one of the ship’s laptops. Kayaks and snorkeling gear—and plenty of beach towels—are available for even more close-up encounters with these amazing islands and their wildlife.

Travel on the Cormorant, and even your carbon footprint on the ecologically fragile Galapagos will be noteworthy: net zero. CanopyCo, an Ecuadorian-based organization dedicated to reforesting Ecuador’s native forests, will offset your carbon emissions to benefit the climate, the local community and Ecuador’s phenomenal flora and fauna. In fact, Cormorant’s entire operation has been included in the offsets—from the fuel used by the catamaran’s engines to the bus rides employees take to work.

Delve into the individual character of each of the Galapagos Islands you visit by traveling on the Cormorant. Its intimate nature and eco-friendly style will say something particular and characteristic about your own.
