Island Conservation Launches Three-Part Virtual Journey of World's Endangered Islands

Next week, Island Conservation is launching a three-part virtual journey to islands across the globe, including the Galapagos Islands. During each interactive Zoom excursion, participants will meet real-life conservation heroes, who will share photos and stories from the field.

The sessions will explore why islands are so unique, how they relate to their marine surroundings, and how emerging technologies are helping to save the special creatures that call islands home. Each weekly session (May 26, June 2, and June 9) will last one hour, starting at 1pm PST/4pm EST.

Since 2016, IGTOA and its member companies have provided Island Conservation with $100,000 in funding; $75,000 for its Floreana Island restoration campaign and $25,000 for its emergency invasive species removal project on Seymour Norte.
