Ecoventura has become a recognized leader in sustainable tourism in the Galapagos Islands and was the first company to earn the voluntary certification, SmartVoyager in 2000, the first to offset carbon emissions and install of solar panels and wind generators to the Eric. In 2006, Ecoventura established the Galapagos Marine Biodiversity Fund in partnership with the World Wildlife Fund that supports environmental education and marine conservation by strengthening the local communities’ ability to manage natural resources.
