Ecuador started to produce electricity in San Cristobal Island with a brand new wind powered energy plant. The new facility produces 2,400 kilowatts of clean electricity.

The United Nations Development Program and the organization “e8” (an association of leading electric companies worldwide) recently completed the 10 million dollar project.

Galapagos uses fossil fuel generators to produce electricity in the 4 inhabited islands. This is the first step in producing cleaner energy.
